Barra Ó Murchú writes historical fiction set in medieval Ireland, bringing forgotten kings and lost battles back to life. His work explores the human stories behind the myths—the ambition, the betrayal, and the cost of power in a world where kingdoms rose and fell on the edge of a sword.
Born and raised in County Clare, Barra grew up walking the same hills and coastlines that Brian Boru once called home. That landscape—wild, beautiful, and haunted by history—shaped his imagination and eventually drew him to tell the stories it holds.
When not writing, Barra can be found exploring ancient monastic sites, reading medieval annals, or walking the windswept beaches of the west coast. He lives in Ireland with his wife and two children.
